A colossal inflatable rubber duck, a beloved fixture of Sunnyvale City Park, inexplicably broke free from its moorings early this morning. Witnesses reported seeing the massive waterfowl drifting serenely down Elm Street, narrowly avoiding traffic and eliciting a mix of amusement and bewilderment.
The duck, standing approximately thirty feet tall, is believed to have been dislodged by an unusually strong gust of wind overnight. City officials are currently coordinating efforts to safely retrieve the errant bath toy. No injuries or significant property damage have been reported thus far, though several early morning commuters expressed surprise at the unusual sight.
